We’re always exploring new ways of scaling our neural network training process. Another influential early connectionist model was a net trained by Rumelhart and McClelland (1986) to predict the past tense of English verbs. Data normalization - neural networks consist of various layers of perceptrons linked together by weighted connections. For example parametric models assume that data follow some parameteric class of nonlinear function (e.g. polynomial, power, or exponential), then fine-tune the shape of the parametric function to fit observed data.
