An optional mute can make the trumpet sound completely different. The sixth valve is commonly tuned as a flat half step, allowing the F tuba to play low G as 1-4-5-6 and low G-flat as 1-2-4-5-6. Even now, I still have to edit various controllers, patch changes, and my playing to create realistic-sounding brass parts. The neckpipe and valve cover has had the lacquer worn off, which you can see in the photo. I enjoy listening to different people and their type of music. Measuring devices such as a vernier caliper or micrometer as used to check the length, width and thickness of each part.

This Glassl contra bass trombone is pitched in F/Eb/Bb. Modern piston valves were developed by François Périnet for the saxhorn family of instruments promoted by Adolphe Sax around the same time. Excellent balance throughout the instrument's range, with a fairly dark tone. The student must have conscious control of the air used through the use of the diaphragm, chest muscles, lips and tongue in order to play with a proper sound, good dynamics and excellent intonation.

BBb Marching tuba: These horns look much like the GG contrabass but are in the key of Bb. As the larger Kruspe style Conn 8D became the flagship model horn in the late 1930s, the top brass at Conn (pardon the pun) decided to introduce an intermediate double horn that was less money than the 8D. The horn had yet to develop into an instrument for strictly musical purposes yet, although curved and helical horns were commonly used for hunting. As a non-profit organization, it is supported by membership dues and donations.

Brass band standards today call for two Eb and two Bb tubas. Sax's instruments gained dominance in France, and later in Britain and America, as a result of the popularity and movements of instrument makers such as Gustave Auguste Besson (who moved from France to Britain) and Henry Distin (who eventually found his way to America). [6] Afterwards there have been many other various types of the Tuba including some with different types of valves different numbers and more.

It has a solid core with predictable slotting. Particularly easy high notes and clear lows. Bach bass trumpets are some of the best sounding and most in-tune options in the bass trumpet world IMO. Titles with more than one composer are listed only under the first name appearing. Overall in very good condition, some very small mute pings which we'll try to get out before shipping. ETA early 2015 This is one of the nicest playing Bach 42 trombones I've tried.

The nickel slide gives a nice pairing with the gold brass bell, yielding a fast crisp response with good bloom and projection in the sound. One of the main places we see brass instruments played today is in marching bands. In some cases, certain surfaces on the instrument such as the valves or the sliding pipes are coated with chromium or a nickel alloy. At the other is a long flaring section ending in a bell. If you are recording more than one player at a time, try allowing some mic bleed.

The text is from Old Testament: "They shall mount wings as eagles" REDUCED $600 This is a gorgeous Elkhart Conn 8H straight .547" tenor trombone from the early 1950s.
